Social canteen: meals, deliveries, care and social work in one app
Von ProxySys3 Min. Lesezeit
A social canteen runs on lists: who eats today, who is on a diet, who gets a delivery and at what time, who is in hospital, who is waiting for a place. Most teams keep them in notebooks, spreadsheets and phone calls. Social canteen puts them in one place, shared by the whole team, with every person seeing exactly what their role needs.
The people you care for
Each person has a profile: address, phone, a contact in the family, diet, allergies, delivery days and the time window for the delivery. Add the ID card picture and the app reads the card on your own device: name, personal number, address and expiry date are proposed for you to check. Personal numbers and documents are stored encrypted, and every look at them is written in an access log that organisers can read.
Birthdays of the week show at the top, and the calendar lists every birthday of the year.
Menus and the kitchen sheet
Write the menu of each day once; add a variant for each diet (diabetic, low salt, soft, puréed…). The kitchen sheet counts the portions for every meal and diet from who is actually eating that day, at home or in the residence. Connected to the Cookbook, dishes come with their ingredients scaled to the portions; with Shopping, the week's purchasing becomes one shopping list.
Delivery routes that fit the time windows
Drivers have their days and shifts. The app splits the city into driver areas so routes do not cross, builds each day's routes from those areas and can compute the best order on the map, keeping every delivery inside its time window. Route sheets print for a day, a week or a month.
Drivers open their own route on the phone (in the browser or the Android app): the stops in order, what is in each package, a map, and a tick and a note for every delivery. Organisers see the progress live.
The medical file
Medical staff keep medications with their times, tick the doses given, write notes and record hospital stays. Only the medical role sees the file; everyone else only learns that a person is in hospital, so the kitchen and the drivers leave them out that day.
Social work and the waiting list
Set how many residents and how many home deliveries you can take. When the places are full, new applicants go on the waiting list, with how long they have waited and their priority; "Admit" gives a place as soon as one frees up.
Social workers plan visits (assessment, home visit, follow-up) for themselves or a colleague, record what happened and fill in a social assessment questionnaire that stays on the person's profile: living situation, housing, income, mobility, help from family, needs and priority. Several social workers split the work: each person can have a responsible social worker, and "Mine" shows only your own.
A team with clear roles, and reports
Organisers, coordinators, kitchen staff, drivers and medical staff each see their part. One person can hold several roles, even all of them, and an organiser can tick themselves as a social worker. Invite the team with a link, a QR code or an email.
Reports show what the team did in any span of days: for one person or for a whole group (all drivers, the kitchen, all social workers), counted per area, with every change listed. Every printout carries the organisation's logo and name.
Excel in and out
Download everything as an Excel workbook (people, menus, drivers, routes, staff), change it in Excel and upload it again: the file is checked in full before anything is saved.
Try it with a demo
Not sure yet? Make a demo organisation in one click: a full canteen with people, menus, drivers, routes, medical files, a waiting list and two weeks of activity. Switch your role to see the app as the kitchen, a driver or the medical staff would.
The app works in English, German, Romanian, Hungarian, Italian and Spanish.
